Diwali is that time of the year when many of us dream about new clothes, new shoes, presents, holiday, and good food. Have we ever paused for a minute to think of those who do not have the privilege to enjoy celebrations along the year?
Melorita Healthcare had recently painted faces of smiles to some 30 children from two different homes; Rumah Shalom and Shelter Home, both located respectively in Puchong and Petaling Jaya. This CSR initiative was implemented last year where successful events were carried out throughout the festive season. The volunteers spent quality time by engaging in games and conversation, providing the much-needed feeling of bonding. We learnt much about these children and to our surprise; they have good talents hidden inside them.
To add to the cheer and joy, goodie bags were distributed to the children. Towards the end of the event, we were delighted to have reached out to these children and Melorita Healthcare will continue to organize more CSR programs in the future.

If you are a nurse who is looking to take your career to the USA, there is just one more step to be taken; The NCLEX exam, which will entitle you to receive a nursing license. With this license, you are entitled to work as a nurse in the USA!
The National Council Licensure Examination is designed to measure the competency and skills of a nurse. There are two types of exams; the NCLEX-RN, taken by those who would like to become registered nurses, and second, NCLEX-PN is for those pursuing a license as a practical nurse.
The NCLEX is important because it bridges the gap between being a graduate or nursing student, and if this is the goal for your nursing career, then you have to pass the NCLEX exam.
The NCBSN requires graduating nurses to pass the NCLEX because this demonstrates that you have the essential knowledge and skills to deal with patients in a medical facility. It ensures that nurses who work in the state will not endanger the lives of those in their care. They are competent and will make sure that the manner in which they look after the patients meets the standards of quality care.
Just about all students experience stress and anxiety when they think about taking the NCLEX exam. Once you have successfully passed the exam; you will realise that all your hard work was worthwhile. You should appreciate the confidence you have gained and feel proud of your accomplishment when you pass the NCLEX exam and become a licensed registered or practical nurse.
How to Study for the NCLEX?
Like any test, the key element to success is preparation, so you should develop a study strategy that works for you. Here are some tips:
•Review all of your nursing textbooks. Take the chapter test along with reading the chapter summaries.
•Maintain a good attitude and challenge yourself; be determined that you CAN pass the NCLEX!
•Study every day, even in short five to ten minutes burst.
•Maximize your time and study materials that you are less familiar with first.
•Purchase comprehensive NCLEX study materials that include practice tests.
There are several online websites with numerous resources available to nursing students who are studying for the NCLEX. You can download different types of materials free of charge that have been written by experienced nurses. The study materials usually include four extensive practice exams similar to what you will find in the National Council Licensure Examination itself, as well as chapter tests.
